2022 Canadian F1 Grand Prix Free Practice 🍁

The F1 Grand Prix of Canada takes place from June 17 to 19 in Montreal (since 1978). It's the 9th round of the Formula 1 World Championship. F1 drivers cover the 4,361 meters of the circuit in less than a minute and 15 seconds, with speeds that can reach more than 300 km/h on the straights . Due to its 14 tight and demanding bends on the brakes, the Gilles-Villeneuve circuit is favorable to overtaking and driver errors.

In free practice 2, Max Verstappen (Red Bull) set the fastest lap of the second session on Friday. The Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz are second and third. The Dutchman improved his mark by just over a second from his time in practice 1, thus ahead of Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc (+0'0''81) and Carlos Sainz (+0'225). Fourth of first tries. For his part, seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton didn't mince words at the end of a difficult Friday in Montreal, with the seven-time Canadian Grand Prix winner calling the first two practice sessions a "disaster", while Mercedes opted for an experimental day. Hamilton finished Free Practice 1 in P8 – where he ran experimental ground with a big cut on his W13, as Mercedes look to try and control their porpoising and rebound issues – but was then a disappointing P13 in FP2 , nearly 1.3s off the pace of Red Bull's Max Verstappen.

There remains the qualifications this Saturday before the great mass of this Sunday which will undoubtedly be thrilling.
