Stellantis El Djazair officially presented the new FIAT Grande, which will be produced locally, on September 4, 2025, during an event organized at the Jardin d'Essai du Hamma in Algiers, in the presence of the Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry, Mr. Salem Ahmed Zayed, the CEO of the Fiat brand, Mr. Olivier François, and the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Stellantis for the Middle East & Africa region, Mr. Samir Cherfan.

With an initial local integration rate of 20%, Stellantis is actively committed to increasing this figure to more than 30% by 2026, a pace well above the regulatory timetable. Samir Cherfan, Chief Operating Officer of Stellantis Middle East & Africa, emphasizes: “We are not just launching a vehicle, but a sustainable industrial ecosystem, creating value for Algerian society.”
The Tafraoui plant recently completed its ironworks and painting facilities. The first pre-series units will be produced by the end of September, before moving to series production in the coming months.

While Stellantis El Djazair does not provide any technical details on this model, our sources inform us that the production version of this Grande Panda will be the new entry-level model with a new 1.2 l turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 100 hp delivering 205 Nm of torque and associated with a five-speed manual gearbox! while the future base model will be equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The current global offering consists of the "Pop," "Icon," and "La Prima" versions, with both the mild-hybrid (1.2-liter 110 hp mHEV 48V) and the all-electric powertrain.
"This new version fulfills the Fiat brand's mission: to offer accessible and versatile mobility to a wide range of drivers thanks to a comprehensive range of engines. [...] It offers a traditional and intuitive driving experience, ideal for those seeking simplicity, practicality, and economy," the brand states.
This version is not intended exclusively for the Algerian market but also for other emerging markets, which means that this Fiat Grande Panda MIB (Made in Bladi) will also be exported.

With the Grande Panda, Fiat is expanding its offering in Algeria with a new car tailored to the needs of Algerian families. It joins the Fiat 500 and the two Doblos, the Glazed and Tollé, which are already assembled at the Oran plant. In 2024, Fiat produced 18,000 vehicles in Algeria. It plans to increase production to 60,000 units in 2025 and 90,000 in 2026.
