At the 1959 Algiers-Hassi-Messaoud Rally, the SIMCAs came first. Wybo, Desplat and Buchmann, on Arondes Montlhery and Vedette Beaulieu, won the first 3 places in production cars, Tourism category. Ouvier sur Arondes Montlhery arrives 1st in the Improved Tourism category, still on Simca.
