After removing the V8 from its U.S. lineup for its Dodge and Jeep brands, Stellantis is reversing course and reintroducing the 395-hp 5.7-liter HEMI V8 for 2026.

“Everyone makes mistakes, but how you handle them defines you. Ram made a mistake by abandoning the Hemi,” said Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis bluntly in a statement sent to the media.

A "Symbol of Protest Badge" will be affixed to all Ram Hemi models, likely a nod to Tavares in a clash that's more cultural than technical. This approach also seems to contradict the upcoming plug-in hybrid and electric versions of the full-size pickup.

Petrolheads can only rejoice, and they know very well that they don't change their minds; in short, a glimmer of hope for the future of automotive pleasure for some.
